A founding partner of KTM’s criminal practice and a graduate in law from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP), Karin Toscano Mielenhausen also holds a specialization certificate in Financial Crimes from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation, São Paulo (FGV-SP), in European Economic Penal Law from the University of Coimbra (Portugal), in collaboration with the Brazilian Institute of Criminal Law Science (IBCCRIM), and in Penal Law and Penal Procedure from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP).
She is pursuing a Master's Degree in Penal Procedure at University of São Paulo (USP) and currently lectures in the Specialization Course in Criminal Law at Ninth of July University (Uninove).
She is also a member of Rights and Privileges Committee of the São Paulo Branch of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB/SP), the Brazilian Institute of Criminal Law Science (IBCCRIM), the Institute for the Defense of the Right to a Defense (IDDD), and of the São Paulo Lawyers Association (AASP).
Throughout the course of her professional career, Dr. Karin Toscano Mielenhausen has specialized in corporate criminal law and acquired vast experience in that area, acting on behalf of the accused and the victims of crime. She possesses a markedly-wide knowledge of the insurance market, especially in actions to combat fraud.
