A founding partner of KTM’s criminal practice and a graduate in law from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP), Karin Toscano Mielenhausen also holds a specialization certificate in Financial Crimes from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation, São Paulo (FGV-SP), in European Economic Penal Law from the University of Coimbra (Portugal), in collaboration with the Brazilian Institute of Criminal Law Science (IBCCRIM), and in Penal Law and Penal Procedure from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP) and in Electoral Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP).
She has a Master's Degree in Penal Procedure at University of São Paulo (USP) and currently lectures in the Specialization Course in Criminal Law at Ninth of July University (Uninove).
She is also a member of the Rights and Prerogatives Commission of the São Paulo Chapter
of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB/SP), of the International Insurance Law Association
(AIDA), of the Brazilian Institute of Criminal Science (IBCCRIM), of the Institute to Defend
the Right to a Defense (IDDD), and the São Paulo Attorneys Association (AASP).
Throughout the course of her professional career, Dr. Karin Toscano Mielenhausen has specialized in corporate criminal law and acquired vast experience in that area, acting on behalf of the accused and the victims of crime. She possesses a markedly-wide knowledge of the insurance market, especially in actions to combat fraud.
